IX. GLHL Tournament
    a. Entry Requirements
      i. Tournament entry fee shall be $450.00 per team
        1. To be submitted to the Secretary/Treasurer/Publicist no later than March 1 of the current season
        2. Entries will not be accepted without fees
        3. Teams not properly entered will not be considered in the schedule
        4. Seeding process as outlined
      ii. Teams must be registered and rostered in compliance with all GLHL regulations
        1. In addition, each player listed on the Senior US Roster shall have played at least 5 regular season games against other GLHL teams prior to the tournament in order to be eligible to play
    b. Site Selection
      i. Tournaments have been awarded (on a rotating basis) as follows:
        1. 2004 Waupun
        2. 2005 Eagle River
        3. 2006 Fond Du Lac
        4. 2007 Portage Lake
        5. 2008 Green Bay
        6. 2009 Calumet
        7. 2010 Mosinee
        8. 2011 Fox Cities
        9. 2012 Madison
      ii. Site/community amenities should include:
        1. 4 large, easily accessible locker rooms with showers and toilets, must be lockable
        2. On-site security for teams and officials, uniformed if possible
        3. Concessions available for ALL games, starting Friday night and continuing after the Championship
          a. Food substantial enough for a “meal” not just snacks, plus non-alcoholic beverages and beer sales
        4. Adequate spectator seating (700-1,000)
        5. Tournament caps (unlike Champions Caps) and/or merchandise available for public purchase
        6. Reasonable admission fees charged to spectators, host to determine
        7. Admission passes free to participants: team members/staff, GLHL officers and game officials
        8. On-site pro shop and/or skate sharpening available
        9. Adequate hotel/motel facilities available (approximately 200 rooms) within a reasonable proximity
        10. Some sort of hospitality food for the players and officials
    c. Schedule/Seeding
      i. Seeding will be based on points, the top 7 point getters in the league will be in the tournament
        1. The host of the tournament is an automatic berth in the tournament
        2. Pairings for the tournament
          a. 1 vs 8
          b. 2 vs 7
          c. 3 vs 6
          d. 4 vs 5
      ii. The upper bracket shall include 1, 8, 4, 5
      iii. The lower bracket shall include 2, 7, 3, 6
      iv. Brackets shall be permanent
      v. Host team shall have the option of playing Friday night
        1. If so the entire bracket must play then, as brackets may not be mixed
        2. If not exercising this option, host must notify the Commissioner in a timely manner for scheduling
    d. Awards/Recognition
      i. The (traveling) Kohlman Cup shall be awarded to the Champions, plus a replica Plaque to keep permanently
      ii. The champions shall also receive a GLHL Championship Banner for their arena, along with 30 championship hats for team members and personnel
      iii. Whenever possible, USA Hockey caps will be provided to all participants
      iv. GLHL will recommend Champions for a berth in the National Tournament
      v. Plaques will be awarded for third, forth, and consolation
    e. Officials Selection
      i. Referees and Linesmen (local when possible) shall be selected/assigned by the Referee-in-Chief and Commissioner
        1. Season ranking/evaluations shall be HEAVILY considered in selections
        2. Team input will be considered for the semi-final, and Championship assignments
        3. Officials will be paid regular season GLHL game fees along with regular GLHL travel fee and to be distributed by the Referee-in-Chief and Secretary/Treasurer/Publicist
        4. Home team or tournament host will provide lodging for the officials
    f. Playing Rules/Amendments
      i. Playing Rules shall be USA Hockey, as amended by the GLHL
      ii. Tournament:
        1. In the event of a tie, there shall be a 3 minute rest followed by a 10 minute sudden death overtime period
        2. There shall be no resurface and teams do not change ends
        3. This procedure shall continue until a winner is determined
        4. After the first overtime, ice may be resurfaced at the referees discretion and/or teams request
          a. In divisional format there is no overtime or ties
