VI. Officials
    a. On-Ice officials
    i. Must be properly registered with USA Hockey/Affiliate prior to December 1
    ii. Improperly registered officials may not work GLHL games
    b. Referees
    i. Referees shall be (qualified) Level 4 officials
    ii. Level 3 officials may be used if necessary
    iii. Referee-in-Chief shall assign referees for all GLHL affiliated games
    iv. Referee’s name must be printed on score sheets and must verify game rosters
    c. Linesmen
    i. Referees shall be (qualified) Level 3 or 4 officials
    ii. Level 2 officials may be used if necessary
    iii. Home team shall be responsible for assigning linesman
    iv. Travel/lodging expenses may be required if local linesmen are not available
    d. Game Fees (1 Referee & 2 Linesmen)
    i. Referee $100.00/game
    ii. Linesmen $50.00/game
    iii. Travel $7.00/hour round trip
    1. Maximum is 4 hours round trip
    iv. Referees shall be paid in the referees room only
    1. Not in the lobby or elsewhere in the rink
    v. Lodging TBD(ric) and home team to coordinate, based on scheduling
    vi. Fees in place thru 2007 with opener at 2007 meeting
    vii. Unpaid game fees, due to defunct teams or bad checks, shall be paid by the GLHL, with the offending team subject to fines/penalties by the Commissioner
    e. Minor (off-ice) officials
    i. The home team shall provide the following ADULT off-ice officials
    1. Official Scorekeeper
    2. Timekeeper
    3. Penalty Box Operators (2)
    4. Announcer if available
    5. Goal judges shall NOT be used
    ii. Off-ice officials shall be under the general supervision of the Referee
    iii. Off-ice officials shall act as neutral/unbiased representatives, subject to removal by Referee if unable to do so
    iv. There is to be no alcoholic beverages in the minor officials area
    f. No-Shows
    i. All game officials are expected to fulfill GLHL scheduling commitments
    ii. Referee shall be subject to a fine equal to the game fee, or shall work a free game for the offended home team in the event of a “no-show”
    1. That referee shall be suspended from further GLHL games until this is resolved
    iii. Linesmen and office officials shall be handled accordingly by the home team in the event of a “no-show”
    1. Teams shall be subject to fines/penalties by the Commissioner if this is a habitual scheduling problem
    2. These officials may be assigned by the Referee-in-Chief and/or Commissioner, with the home team responsible for any related expenses
    g. Ranking/Evaluation
    i. Referee-in-Chief and Commissioner will track official’s performance during the season
    1. Teams should submit any concerns/compliments about officials as deemed appropriate
    ii. Evaluations with team input, shall determine future assignments and Tournament Selections
    iii. Officials shall be on the ice for warm-ups, and shall conduct a captains meeting at the end of warm-ups
